Senior Journalist
As soon as I saw the news day rota’s and noticed I was a journalist most weeks, I was at first quite disappointed. However, I then decided to take the attitude of saying yes to everything I was offered. This drive took me to do multiple two ways on the radio and TV bulletins, pieces of the camera, video interviews and a TV bulletin. I feel like I got the most out of the stories I was given – this meant I enjoyed the role of a journalist.
After saying yes to mostly everything I was asked or offered, I managed to get together quite a good portfolio. I now have video, audio and written copy to show to an employer.

Kathryn Waller (TV two-way) - “I thought Lauren did really well produce the content for the two-way. Spoke with confidence and gave the impression she was full covered with everything that had happened in this case. Knew the script so didn’t have to look at it much giving a more professional look to the two-way.”
Leanne Revell (Radio two-way) - “Lauren did a two-way radio interview with me during the 2pm radio bulletin about the recent updates about the Ben Needham investigation. She was really good and did well as she knew her information and was confident about what she was saying, so barely needed her script. She helped make the bulletin more interesting and engaging.”
