Social Media Editor
Organisation
The organisation was a key part of my role as social media editor. I wanted to include as much different content as I could. I wanted social shorts for the editors, Facebook lives and behind the scenes pictures as well as uploading links to all the stories. It was a very busy day but Josh and I managed to do everything I wanted us to do.
Team Management
I was in charge of Josh for this newsday. It was my job to make sure he knew what he was doing.
Ambition
For this role, I had high expectations. I made a list of what I wanted to include during the day. these things included; Facebook lives, short shorts, videos of editorial roles, image updates during the day and every story posted on Facebook and Twitter. I am happy to say we achieved all those.
Working together with others
I found that working with josh, someone who I previously hadn't really spoken to, was great. We got on so well, and this made the social media role easy. He was keen to do all of the jobs I had wanted for social media.

As deputy social media editor, I was working alongside Lauren who was the social media editor for the day. We decided at the start of the day that the best way to manage both the Facebook and the Twitter accounts was to take one each. I took on the role of managing the Facebook account and Lauren took the Twitter account. This worked well as we were able to split the workload whilst posting and tweeting similar things between each other. Lauren was very organised and everything was laid out making the day run very smoothly. We also managed to add to the social media with editorial role profiles and Facebook lives. All in all, a very productive day.
